Welcome to Card Experts.

If you are looking for the perfect credit card then here is some information to help you.

Keep in mind when selecting your credit card the Interest rate, APR, and any fixed fees. You may also wish to consider the balance transfer rate - some credit card issuers encourage you to transfer the balance of your existing credit card to your new card with them, where they will charge you a lower rate on that transferred balance than you are currently paying. If this is the case you can have two different rates of interest applicable to the same card - one for new purchases and one for the transferred amount.

Some cards also offer cash back, and rewards such as travel insurance or free gifts.

If you are a student you may find that some credit card issuers offer special Student Credit Cards, with good rates and attractive offers/gifts.

There are also cards particularly good if you have a good credit rating, and ones particularly suitable if you have a poor credit rating.

Many High street stores now offer credit cards that allow you to save money when you use their credit card in their store. A good example of this type of card is the argos credit card affering a typical APR of 18.9%.

You must always be aware of credit card fraud and never give out your PIN (Personal Identification Number), or write it down anywhere. To increase the security of credit cards, chip and pin has been introduced, so that rather than sign for the transaction you need only enter your 4 digit PIN number. This prevents people being able to forge your signature - if only you know your PIN then only you can use your card. For this reason be sure no one is looking over your shoulder when you enter your pin at the check out.
